Hi MicroFocus,

As the GroupWise client supports S/MIME.

Please also support S/MIME on the GMS server.

Comments

  • I believe S/MIME is up to the mobile device client itself and not the EAS server.
You should be able to just import your appropriate s/mime cert onto the mobile device, enable s/mime support in the client and be good to go.

  • I just tested with GMS 14.2.2.5. Result: S/MIME signatures are not transfered right via GMS :-(!

Using Outlook 2016 as client on one side an GroupWise 2014R2 Client on the GroupWise side everythings works perfect. But when transfering via GMS (i.e. Outlook Client connected via GMS) the signature is stripped. Encyrpted messages show an attachement, not handled by Outlook Client and noch message content.

  • I just like to add: GMS14 and also GMS18 don't have support for S/MIME signed or encrypted messages. For me two things are not easy to understand:

    1. Why is it an extra feature to NOT strip parts out of a MIME mail body
    2. Especially with regard to the new European General Data Protection Regulation (https://gdpr-info.eu/) it is essential to have a easy to manage mail encryption for people wo have to handle personal data. ... and nearly nobody seams to use this standard way.

    So PLEASE vote!

  • I need smime too. It is not supported in GMS18 and Webaccess.

    It's a shame!

    Best Regards
    Sven

  • Is this topic still alive? It seams nobody is listening any more :-(

Every mobile device supports S/MIME and GMS still just strips part of the mail. It should be no action, to just cut of this part of the code in GMS. Especially as GW supports S/MIME
