We are having this situation that gwcheck took too long to finish, which caused heavy loading on GW server and slow respond to users in working hours, due to spend too much time handling some large accounts.
Moreover, users seldom or even never log in those accounts, so we cannot apply archiving or other managing methods.
So we would like to ask about maybe an option that can forbid those accounts to receive emails, both internal and external, which might prevent gwcheck from taking too long to finish and leads to users' inconvenience again.

  • It's really useful and make sense function

  • Disabled accounts can't receive emails. You can also individually block accounts from receiving external email in GWIA.

  • Disabled accounts can receive emails. If you set the Force Inactive status to true, than the mailbox won't receive emails. Unfortunately this is not in the documentation.

  • It's really necessary issue

  • This has been discussed over the years at length. If you stop a user recieving email, then the first email that is stopped is an order for $1m and that is not acceptable.

When you "Disable Login" you deactivate the account and the GWIA will no longer accept the incoming email. This was the solution provided so that only deliberatly disabled accounts will stop recieving email but the basic function of recieving email orders is never broken.
