As a GroupWise administrator I would like to keep log files for the maximum period of time, I think this is 350 days. This means lots of storage space. As log files are text files, they can be compressed efficiently. For example a typical 1024 KB gwia log file can be compressed to 150 KB with xz. My idea is that GW should compress its (older?) log files to save tons of storage space. I could imagine a "Compress files older than x days" setting in the agent's startup file just like in logrotate in linux.
