The ability to keep the focus (Always on Top) on notification popups and also to move the popup anywhere on your desktop should be an option. A lot of my users have complained about both, especially notifications "disappearing." They are telling me they are missing more appointments and alarms.

  • It would seem like and easy thing to make optional.

  • I've heard nothing but complaints about missed appointments and reminders. Will you be fixing this bug on R2 anytime soon? I know that's the way it's designed to work, but it is terrible.

  • I have a user who just opened a help desk ticket for this. Seems she missed a high profile meeting because of it.

  • In the interim you can configure the notification to display for longer periods of time. By default it only displays for 15 seconds which, for me, is definitely not long enough.

Right-Click on Notify in the system tray | Options | General Tab | "Show Notify Dialog for" adjust the time. Click on Apply.

  • We actually have always increased the time to thousands of seconds, which basically makes the notifications appear all day, until read or closed.

Even with the increased time, depending on what program you are using and the sequence of clicks, the Notify Icon gets hidden. It should be Always On Top, or the user should at least be given that option.

Also, the user should be able to move the Notify window anywhere on the screen, as before.

  • Agree, the user should be able to set the focus where the Popup appears. It currently interfers with lots of other Popup Clients.
