WHen using standard role approvals (Serial / Quorum) it is possible to define the approvers through the UI. When custom approval flow is created and selected, the approvers cannot be set through UI but need to be selected in the custom workflow in some other way. Allowing approvers to be selected through UI would make custom workflows much more usable. Maybe there should be a workflow configuration option for allowing this. Now it's near impossible to extend the standard workflows without losing the approver selection functionality.
