The translation to none english languages is confusing in administration utilities like configupdate, since the administrative documentation is not translated it would be more consistent to have all non enduser parts in just english (or at least be able to switch off the local translation)

For configupdate, you can edit the configupdate.sh.properties file and adjust the language that used. The property is:
USER_LANG=
If you want English, adjust that to have a value of en, save, and then launch the utility in GUI or Console mode and the text will be in English.
