Today if the DB server is being restarted because of Windows Update then the IG service running on another server is unable to function any more after the database comes up.
Collections are not working and the logfiles are full of errors.
IG should be able to be stable enough to recover from the loss of the DB connection.

  • Greetings Aleksandar,
What is the exact version of ID Gov the you have deployed and what database type is being used (MS SQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL) ? ID Gov utilizes the connection pool that is maintained by Tomcat. It is Tomcat that should re-create the pool if the database connectivity is lost. There are settings in the server.xml file that control the aspects of connection and re-connecting. If you could outline the version of the product and the database, I can review.

  • Hi Steven,
When I wrote this, this was on 3.0 I believe. The customer has since then upgraded to 3.5.1.
    I haven't tried what happens on 3.5/3.6.

The DB was PostgreSQL 9.x (something).

    Thanks
