Currently DRA is a 32 bit application with 4gb memory limitations. The memory limitations create significant performance issues in large and busy DRA environments. Please consider moving DRA to 64 bit as the tech industry has began to move to 64bit. This limitation also impacts the number of sessions you can allow to connect to a device as the default 30 may not be enough. However coupling a large number of allowed connections to a small amount of memory available leads to server crashes. I believe 64bit will resolve many issues in large environments including large sets of ActiveViews (or configuration information stored/replicated through memory).

  • Hi Albert. Thank you for providing your idea regarding DRA 64b upgrade. At this time, I do not have 64b on the planning schedule, but it is something that we will include for internal discussion and consideration as we plan our next round of product releases. I invite other customers to comment on this as well.

  • Albert was being kind when he said that the tech industry has begun to move to 64-bit. The industry moved to 64-bit years ago for server applications and you have been left behind.

  • Hi Andrew, Thank you for your comment. Upgrading DRA to 64bit application status will provide certain benefits as identified, but at the current time we are addressing other requirements that are of higher priority to the general customer base.

  • We have moved several segments of the product to 64b. We've modularized certain components such as the Workflow Automation facility, FACR, the Skype and Exchange services, and auditing to 64b. We will continue to evaluate other component candidates with future releases.

  • Albert, we are actively exploring this and deciding where to place on our upcoming road map for an upcoming release.
