Some Authenticators are automatically created by Advanced Authentication, e.g. LDAP password.
If you click on the Authenticator in the Self-Service portal, the Edit page for this Authenticator opens. It can be edited, but the Comment didn't change for LDAP password. It is even possible to delete this Authenticator, but it is recreated directly afterwards. So for this example it is not necessary to edit at all.
For some scenarios it would be helpful to reduce the configuration options for end users and have these Authenticators read-only or even hidden in the List of enrolled Authenticators.
Especially, in some bigger installations the IT-departments could want to restrict modification of some Authenticators.
